Hello and welcome to MoneyKeep!

My name is Marcelo. I am the developer behind the app.

I kept my financial and investment data monthly for years on spreadsheets, but it was always lacking details and information. So, I looked into apps that could help me with this: Kinvo, YNAB, Monarch, Lunchmoney, etc. I used a few for awhile, but at the end of the day I wanted an app that would both help me save more money and help me better understand my investments. As I already wanted to create a SaaS app and did not enjoy other solutions I decided to build my own: MoneyKeep.

Features

MoneyKeep is not the most feature complete app for now, but in time it has the potential of becoming the best apps in this area.

Currently the features in the app are:

  • Internationalization: You can use the app in EN-US or PT-BR at the moment, more languages will be implemented based on demand.
  • Simple budgeting: you can set goals for each income and expense categories
  • Multi Currency tracking: You can track the value and conversion of any of our available currencies
  • Stocks tracking: Stocks are treated as special currencies so just by typing it’s ticker it will be tracked
  • Analysis: Our dashboard provides the essential summary of your net worth growth, income and expenses
  • Simple Investment projections: It is possible to assign a fixed annual interest for the accounts, which is then used to project future entries

Technology

As a developer I worked for a long time improving the perfomance of web apps, so speed and efficiency are really important to me and thus also for this app.

This is why we chose to avoid the overuse of JavaScript. Browsers are awesome software by themselves and JavaScript code is used so often, so widely, that sometimes we forget to ask if it is really needed to have a good web experience.

This does not mean that we won’t use JavaScript on the app, it just means that JS will be used only to enhance the user experience, but won’t be a necessity for the app to work properly.

Pricing

The app is still being constantly developed and improved, so we will start charging 5$ / month, but we envision in the near future to have yearly and lifelong plans. At the end of the day ain’t we all tired of yet another subscription.
